We moved out of our home at the end of 2007
to completely remodel our 1969 home. We were taking the house
down to the studs. Our plan was to put in a new driveway, add
patios, have some type of retaining wall and completely
landscape with plantings. We chose Axel Landscape because of
their website. After looking at several others, we found it to
be easy to navigate and full of information. Their pictures and
descriptions of their completed and in process projects sealed
the deal. They have also won many awards which was a bonus. We
called and Amy Axel came to our home. Within a short period of
time, we had a plan and bid. The plan was very creative and Amy
was upfront and honest about all of our options. Amy left to
take care of her new twins and Jodi Axel stepped in and picked
up where she left off. This transition was seamless. Jodi sent
us pictures and descriptions of all plantings, helped to plan
the circular driveway and was thoroughly organized. This was
greatly appreciated with the chaos of our remodeling project.
Axel Landscape uses one crew which we feel is extremely
important. They were punctual and amazing. The work product was
incredible. Chris Axel (owner) was front and center through the
entire project. He was easy to approach and wonderful to work
with. We can't say enough about Axel Landscape. They are
creative, organized and amazing to work with. We knew what was
going on every step of the way. Our total project was very
detailed on the house and we worked with many different
companies. We can honestly say that Axel Landscape was the most
enjoyable. We did not need to follow up or worry about anything.

Jodi designed a two-tiered paver
patio with four steps and sitting wall. She put together
an AWESOME one-of-a-kind design with beautiful
landscaping also.

over the plan, even meeting her at a landscaping
wholesaler to pick out pavers and retaining wall blocks.
The project went great. Chris and the team created a
beautiful two-tiered paver patio for us. They were
wonderful to work with. Exceeded expectations. They
completed the large project in five days, complete with
landscaping and sod repair. They were very clean,
disposing of yard waste. We love our new patio!

Installed
approximately 370 sq ft of paver patio
along with small retaining wall,
rerouted downspout underground to a
pop-up emitter, and installed buried
conduit for electrical connection to hot
tub. Also moved some existing shrubs
that were in the way and planed in new
locations.

us to design what we wanted, as well as
giving a detailed line item estimate.
She was also great keeping in contact
between her first visit and when the
work started. Chris and his crew arrived
on time and promptly began work. They
were very professional throughout the
entire project, and did an excellent job
on the installation. They were also very
conscious about leaving the yard in as
good a condition as possible given the
nature of the work that was performed.
No need to worry about some unqualified
subcontracted crew showing up and
botching the job - Chris was there the
entire time with their only crew so we
knew we could expect a quality job.

We could not
be happier with the work that
was done and the professionalism
throughout the entire time they
were here. Amy came out and
spent 3 hours talking to us to
find out what we were looking
for and what our budget was. She
came back a few days later with
ideas and drawings. With a few
changes here and there she came
up with the perfect plan for
what we wanted. With twins on
the way Jodi took over for Amy
and did a fantastic job keeping
us up to date and helped us
finalize our paver and stone
selections. She was always
available for the odd question
or new idea we came up with and
was very quick on getting back
to us with the answer. They
removed our old deck and
completely disposed of it and
the old walkway. With the area
prepped and leveled they went to
work laying the pavers. I was
extremely impressed on the
attention to detail Chris and
his crew put into their work. I
couldn't believe how straight
the lines were and how accurate
each stone was placed. It is
truly a work of art. The care
they gave in making sure our
existing landscaping and flowers
were not harmed was also very
appreciated by my wife and I.
They were always on time and
stayed late into the evening to
keep on schedule. The final
product exceeded all our
expectations and is now the envy
of the neighborhood. We have a
beautiful outdoor living room
and have spent countless
enjoyable hours out there
working in the gardens,
entertaining, eating or just
relaxing by the unique
fireplace. We even had Chris,
Jodi and the entire crew over
for a barbeque to christen the
new patio and thank them for all
their hard work. We could not
recommend their services enough.
Besides being great contractors
we now consider them good
friends.

July, 2007 This new wall has created quite a stir in our neighborhood! Chris Axel and the rest of the crew showed up on time and worked efficiently to get the job done in only two days. They generously allowed all the little boys in the neighborhood to inspect the Bobcat. These are real artists and professionals! Amy is smart,funny,a good listener, and had great design ideas, but also helped me figure out what worked best for US. Chris and crew are smart and hard-working *perfectionists*. The wall is a spectacular work of art! They patiently answered my questions and explained how best to water while everything gets established. Nobody with Axel Landscapes smokes and nobody was blaring KQRS on the radio all day. A clean cut group! June, 2007 Chris visited our house and listened to our thoughts on creating a kidney shaped patio with a sitting wall and fire pit. We advised that we would be building a deck in the near future and ultimately planned to do the final planting and shrubs at a later date. With this in mind, Chris offered valuable suggestions and guidance. Chris and his crew arrived promptly on our scheduled date. Their equipment was clean, the crew was exceptional and they went to great extent to minimize traffic on the lawn. At the end of each day, the crew cleaned the entire area of the yard. During the 2 1/2 day installation I received many compliments from the neighbors on what "good work" my landscapers were doing. These compliments continue and make us very proud. A side note: I felt guilty watching these guy work on my new patio. I had no idea how much work was involved and questioned myself if I paid them enough. To whom it may concern: This past spring we worked with Chris and Amy Axel to design and install some landscaping in our backyard and are thrilled with the outcome. From the start, we enjoyed working with Amy on the design and estimation of the project. Amy listened to us and understood our hopes for the backyard better than any of the other companies that bid on the project. By far, we preferred the creativity and uniqueness of her plan. To make things even better, their estimate was the most thorough and affordable. Chris and his team then came and started the actual work last fall before the snow fell. We were amazed at how hard they worked as the temperatures began to drop and snowflakes fell. We enjoyed having the team around – they were nice people, hard working and provided clear communication about the job. This spring, Chris and his team were back to finish the plantings and place some finishing touches. They left the job site cleaned up and ready for immediate use. Axel Landscapes was wonderful to work with. When I first spoke with Amy she put my mind at ease, I felt like I was talking with one of my friends. She listened to our ideas and incorporated them into a great design. She even helped us prioritize phases of the landscaping so we can work through the sections as budget permits. When Chris, Jon and the guys started the project, we watched them pull out of the old landscaping with some trepidation wondering what it would look like in the end. As we watched Amy's design take shape and the guys started planting, it was perfect and exactly like we discussed. We love coming home, driving up and seeing our home with curb appeal! August 25, 2005 My wife and I interviewed several landscaping companies in order to have a pond and waterfall installed in our back yard. We chose Chris Axel Landscape because they were prompt in responding to our questions and requests, Amy was very knowledgeable about design and plantings, as well as coming recommended by a trusted friend. Ultimately, the choice proved to be right. When Chris, Jon and Gavin came to work; they really came to work! They were professional and efficient. They took good care not to damage existing landscaping, showed up on time, worked a full day and nobody had to check in on them. That's a rarity! My neighbors even commented on how polite they were and that it was nice to have contractors working in the neighborhood who didn't find the need to communicate with cursing involved (lots of little ears around). In the end, the price quoted was accurate and very fair. I've found many contractors try to 'ding ya' with a couple extra hundred dollars; what they call "extra incurred costs"- really poor management mistakes they made. Not the case with Chris Axel Landscape. Everyone at Chris Axel Landscape has been a joy to work with; even to answer my silly questions a year after the project was done. 5 Star Rating! Rob S.
