The
kitchen of your dreams probably includes aspects of contemporary
space planning - more counterspace and cabinet storage competes with
the desire for an open and inviting space where family and guests
can congregate comfortably.
We
have worked with many clients to bring these design aspects into
their homes. In some cases, a layout change can make the
spaces you have work more efficiently. In other cases, a smart
architectural change can modify the existing house layout to give
the space more functionality for today's lifestyle.
In other cases, additions are used to seamlessly add living space
while still maintaining the original character and style of your
home.
A few
examples of our work with kitchen renovations can be found on the
following pages:
Open up Your Space:
By removing some walls and rearranging the space, the contemporary
open feeling of today's kitchens can be brought to spaces that were
previously walled off.

Working with Existing Spaces:
Using the spaces in an
existing 1920's home, we reworked the existing kitchen, rear entry
space, and butlers pantry and transformed it into a large functional
kitchen and powder room.

Small Additions:
A small addition can add
a lot of functional space. This 1910's craftsman
bungalow updated the kitchen area and added family eating area and a
half-bath to bring modern conveniences to this classic home.

Large Additions:
This historic Summit
Avenue home gained a kitchen, mudroom, office nook and powder room
with an addition that blends seamlessly to the original style and
architecture of the home.
