2010 MNLA Award Winner
This project won the 2010 MNLA Merit Award for Residential Rear Yard. It took a totally unusable, hilly back yard space and turned it into a gorgeous outdoor living and entertaining space. There are over 900 s.f. of patios, an outdoor fireplace, custom stone-topped sitting walls, and a beautiful stone staircase and pillars leading to the front yard.
2010 Hedberg Award
This project also won the 2010 Hedberg Award for Natural Stone Design and Craftsmanship.
This project required coordinating electricians, plumbers (for the gas line to the fireplace), and city inspectors. There are five different types of limestone mixed into the walls, and custom cut curved limestone caps. The space is lit beautifully at night.
2008 MNLA Award
This project won the 2008 Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association Merit Award.
It includes ~5,000 s.f. of patio terraces, 1,500 s.f. of paver sidewalks, and a 4,500 s.f. paver driveway. There is also a 500 s.f. bluestone entryway. The entry and the driveway are heated geothermally.
2008 Hedberg Award
This project also won the 2008 Hedberg Award for Design and Craftsmanship with Concrete Pavers.
With this many square feet of pavers, you can imagine the confluence of elevations, angles, patterns, etc., which required much pre-planning and fancy cutting. The rear terraces easily provide entertaining space for 100+ people.
2005 Hedberg Award
This St. Paul project won the 2005 Hedberg Award for Block Retaining Wall Design & Construction.
We were very pleased to have this project recognized because it shows that smaller properties can have award-winning transformations. It doesn't always have to be large spaces and huge budgets. (Not that there's anything wrong with those!)
2004 MNLA Award
This project won the 2004 Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association Merit Award for Residential Rear Yard.
